About Us

Wieselmanns was first established in 1974 by David Wieselmann, a veteran of the Australian hairdressing industry. Situated in the prestigious area of South Yarra, the salon caters to Melbourne’s thriving and elite clientele.

We set ourselves apart from the rest, made evident by the prestige of the clientele we cater to, ranging from network and television personalities to the young and fashionable who want to try out the latest trends. Many of our clients have been with us from the very beginning and know exactly what they want. When dealing with something as personal as hair, we make sure that we communicate clearly and encourage realistic expectations. We don’t just offer haircuts. We offer consultations.

Many hair salons in Melbourne are guilty of churning out the latest hairstyles for clients without taking into account factors such as facial shape, hair texture and type, skin tone, eye colour, lifestyle and a person’s individual preferences. We prefer to offer bespoke, one-off hair creations that match each client’s needs and preferences. And unlike our competitors, we don’t just recommend the most costly treatments and products without equipping our clients with the extra knowledge needed to maintain and care for their hair at home.

At Wieselmanns, we only stock and recommend brands that we have found, in our personal experience, to offer clients value for money and the desired end result. For this reason, we are proud stockists of the Schwarzkopf and Kérastase products as they have been proven to offer optimised results for every hair and scalp type, allowing us to prescribe a truly personalised in-salon and at-home haircare regime for every client that we care for.

To make sure we can keep offering our hair services to the best of our abilities, we regularly send everyone from our Senior Stylists to Junior Hairdressers on training courses. This allows them to keep abreast of the latest hair trends, cutting and styling techniques as well as signature styles, which we draw on to create one of a kind hair makeover for each client. We have an ongoing relationship with Schwarzkopf Professional, and some of our staff members are regularly asked to act as National Ambassadors, Educators and Mentors in the industry thanks to their expertise in all things hair related.
